The Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Helsinki (UH) is the only university faculty in Finland giving higher-level education in agricultural sciences. Research in biological nitrogen fixation with legumes and in modern soil microbiology has been in focus for 30 years. Research on legumes is undergoing vigorous development, with investigations of new uses of legumes to meet Finnish market demand for locally produced stock-feed and to enhance farm income streams and sustainability.
The University of Helsinki leads Work Package 1 (Case studies) and participates in all other WPs except WP6.
