LEI/WUR is the Dutch acronym for Agricultural Economics Research Institute at the Univesity of Wageningen. The institute is focused on promoting the quality of food, the living environment and living conditions within international society. LEI works for government and industry developing economic knowledge in the fields of food, agriculture and green space.
The work in Legume Futures is focused on research on public policies relevant to legume-supported cropping systems. The staff involved in Legume Futures are:
A senior regional economist who has worked at LEI since 2001. His work has focused on the application of geoinformatics in rural development research. He has participated in a variety of research projects, including a cost-benefit analysis of the EU Thematic Soil Strategy and the SENSOR Integrated Project, which develops tools for assessing the impact of European policies on multifunctional land use.
A quantitative agricultural economist with several years of experience of applied research. Of particular relevance is his contribution to developing the agricultural sector model CAPRI (since 1999) and applying it in policy analyses. He has worked in European projects such as CAPRI, CAPSTRAT and SENSOR as well as in more focussed ex-ante impact analyses for national bodies.
